Danville Hosts Major Manufacturing Industry Conference
DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) — The message at a nationally recognized conference in Danville was clear: “There are plenty of opportunities available.”
The Haas Technical Education Center’s Americas CNC Educators Conference brings together professionals in the manufacturing industry to promote industry-education initiatives.
This room is packed with people who came to get advice from a panel of professionals during the 2018 HTEC Americas CNC Educators Training Conference in Danville. The week-long conference is hosted by @IALR and @DCCPR. Almost every seat is taken this morning!
Each year the week-long conference is held in a different city, and this was Danville’s first time hosting the event.
They say this is a huge opportunity for the city.
Panelists discuss things they look for when hiring new employees. They look for attention to detail, attention to safety, a good attitude (amongst other characteristics).
“The Danville community was lucky enough to be chosen for the event this year and is bringing first class manufacturers from around the country and beyond to meet,” Mark Gignac, Executive Director of IALR, said.
The conference will run until Friday and will include breakout sessions, tours and networking opportunities.
